چکیده

Abstract Men with high serum prostate specific antigen (PSA) typically undergo standard transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy (TRUS-biopsy) during which 10 to 12 cores are obtained. TRUS-biopsy can cause side-effects including bleeding, pain, and infection. Multi-parametric MRI (MP-MRI) used as a triage test might allow men avoid unnecessary improve diagnostic accuracy. According the renowned PROMIS study, for clinically significant cancer, MP-MRI was more sensitive less than TRUS-biopsy. In this we performed single centre, retrospective audit on detection rate of cancer among targeted compare it TRUS biopsy. Clinically is defined Gleason score ³ 4 +3 or maximum core length 6mm longer. Besides, also in against study. Through audit, found that 2019, there 54% (60 out 112 patients) 41% (26 64 Comparing study detected 38% group 26% standard-biopsy group, adjusted difference our (13%) similar 12%. conclusion, reaffirms reduce over-diagnosis insignificant cancer.

Detection of Clinically Significant Prostate Cancer Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging-Ultrasound Fusion Targeted Biopsy: A Systematic Review.

CONTEXT The current standard for diagnosing prostate cancer in men at risk relies on a transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy test that is blind to the location of the cancer. To increase the accuracy of this diagnostic pathway, a software-based magnetic resonance imaging-ultrasound (MRI-US) fusion targeted biopsy approach has been proposed. OBJECTIVE Our main objective was to compare the detec...

mp-MRI Prostate Characterised PIRADS 3 Lesions are Associated with a Low Risk of Clinically Significant Prostate Cancer - A Retrospective Review of 92 Biopsied PIRADS 3 Lesions.

OBJECTIVE To determine whether prostate image reporting and data system (PIRADS) 3 lesions as assessed by a 3T multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) represent clinically significant prostate cancer. METHOD A retrospective review was performed on a series of consecutive patients who underwent MRI guided biopsy of the prostate for clinical suspicion of prostate cancer between January...

Analysis of false negative rate in sentinel lymph node biopsy of breast cancer: a single centre retrospective study from China

Sentinel lymph node biopsy substituting axillary lymph node dissection has become a routine surgery in many countries but not in China because of the false negative rate. False negative (FN) of sentinel lymph node (SLN) can lead an incorrect assessment of pathological staging. In this study, we retrospectively analyzed the clinic pathological data of 645 breast cancer patients in Shandong Cance...

Comprehensive cardiovascular MRI in hypertension: a UK single centre experience

Background MRI is a useful investigation in hypertensive patients, providing a non-invasive method for the assessment of the heart and potential secondary causes (including adrenal, aortic, renal and renovascular abnormalities). This is now more relevant with the introduction of therapies such as renal denervation in those with suitable anatomy. The ability to perform a single comprehensive ass...
